The Christy Webber Landscapes office building primary heating and cooling is provided by harvesting the temperature of the ground underneath the site. Twenty 220’ shafts are located in the courtyard between the office and shop buildings. A system of pipes links those shafts and channels their temperature transfer fluid into the building making it available to the seven heat pumps located throughout the structure. During the winter months warmer earth mass temperatures are transferred to the inside while colder temperatures are transferred back into the ground. The reverse is true during the summer months.
